Survey and Spatial New Zealand Award
Award Winning Surveying
01-09-23

Survey and Spatial New Zealand have hosted another excellent conference in NZ's home of Surveying, Dunedin's University of Otago.

Director of GeoSurvey, Michael Cutfield, is beyond proud to have been awarded this year's Engineering Surveying award at the awards dinner. Michael has been recognised for his nearly 10 years service as head of the Stream, as well as his work on major infrastructure projects across the country.

A big thank you to all those involved in organising, sponsoring and attending the event, there were a few blurry eyes the following morning but what a great opportunity to reconnect with friends and colleagues in the industry and recognise the excellence we strive for.

Engineering Surveying is one of six professional streams that the professional organisation S+SNZ represent. Can you name the other 5? Can you summarise the scope of Engineering Surveying? Not always easy to answer but GeoSurvey is passionate, and loves to chat about all things Survey, just reach out.

Congratulations to Michael and all other award winners! Read more..

New Tech in Surveying
16-08-24

We are thrilled to share that GeoSurvey has successfully completed one of the first uses of the HP SitePrint robot in New Zealand! 🎉 Thanks to the great collaboration with Global Survey, who provided the gear, we were able to bring this cutting-edge technology to a challenging project with 505 Construction.

On this construction site, we were tasked with marking out all the wall locations on a complex floor slab. The slab presented two major challenges:
1️⃣ A polished concrete finish meant there was zero room for error—no damage could be done to the surface from incorrect fitting locations.
2️⃣ The building's non-square shape meant that traditional methods, like the 3:4:5 triangle, just wouldn’t cut it.

This project was the perfect use case for the HP SitePrint robot. With its advanced technology, we were able to precisely mark out the entire layout, ensuring accuracy and protecting the pristine concrete surface—all before the rain rolled in! ☔️

The efficiency of the HP SitePrint robot saved our surveyors valuable time and helped keep the project on track. We're proud to bring innovative solutions like this to our clients, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the surveying industry.

A big thank you to Global Survey for their support, and check out the video below to see the HP SitePrint in action! 🎥
